Autumn Tubbs Honored by Hartwick College

Autumn Tubbs '27 of Saint Johnsville, N.Y., was presented with two awards during the College's Honors Convocation held on April 30. Tubbs was recognized as an Andrew B. Saxton Undergraduate Fellow in Biochemistry. Fellows are selected by faculty in each department to honor outstanding achievement in their respective fields. They serve as student assistants within their major department and receive a tuition credit. Additionally, Tubbs was presented The Otto Steinbach Memorial Scholarship in Chemistry. Established in memory of Chemistry Professor Dr. Otto Steinbach by his wife, Grace Steinbach '38, and former student Elizabeth Lamphere '38, H'97, this scholarship is awarded to a rising junior or senior chemistry or biochemistry major who has demonstrated high academic achievement.

Akua Manuh Honored by Hartwick College

Akua Manuh '26 of Bronx, N.Y., was presented with two awards during the College's Honors Convocation held on April 30. Manuh was named a Faculty Scholar in Nursing. All scholars have excellent academic records and have demonstrated an outstanding mastery of their respective disciplines. Rising seniors are nominated by faculty in their major departments based on academic achievement, leadership and character. Additionally, Manuh was presented The Gladys Brooks Nursing Scholarship. This award goes to a student enrolled in the Three-Year Bachelor's Degree Program or the 18-month Accelerated Program. Students are selected based on educational achievement, leadership and academic ability.

Amanda Bryla Honored by Hartwick College

Amanda Bryla '26 of Endwell, N.Y., was presented with two awards during the College's Honors Convocation held on April 30. Bryla was named a Faculty Scholar in Environment, Sustainability and Society. All scholars have excellent academic records and have demonstrated an outstanding mastery of their respective disciplines. Rising seniors are nominated by faculty in their major departments based on academic achievement, leadership and character. Additionally, Bryla was presented the President Margaret L. Drugovich P'12 Award for Personal Courage. Established by Elizabeth Steele P'12, this award goes to a qualified rising sophomore, junior, or senior Hartwick College student or students with demonstrated financial need who has faced adversity and is persevering.

Madison Garey Honored by Hartwick College

Madison Garey of Johnson City, N.Y., was presented with two awards during the College's Honors Convocation held on April 30. Garey was named a Faculty Scholar in Economics. All scholars have excellent academic records and have demonstrated an outstanding mastery of their respective disciplines. Rising seniors are nominated by faculty in their major departments based on academic achievement, leadership and character. Additionally, Garey was presented The Keith A. Youngman '05 Award in Economics. Established by Gerald and Candace Youngman P'05 in memory of their son, the award goes to a rising junior or senior economics major for an off-campus internship or J Term experience. The recipient is selected by the economics faculty based on his or her demonstration of strong morals, an established work ethic, an enterprising spirit, engagement with the Hartwick College community and the community at large, and support for his or her fellow students and the faculty of the department.

Lincoln Waffle '26 of Laurens, N.Y., was presented with two awards during the College's Honors Convocation held on April 30. Waffle was named a Faculty Scholar in Business Administration. All scholars have excellent academic records and have demonstrated an outstanding mastery of their respective disciplines. Rising seniors are nominated by faculty in their major departments based on academic achievement, leadership and character. Additionally, Waffle was presented The Community Bank N.A. Scholarship in Memory of Linda S. French '85. Established by Wilber National Bank, now Community Bank N.A., with a gift from the bank's Board of Directors, the income provides a scholarship for a business administration major.

Brynita Haas '26 of Red Creek, N.Y., was presented with two awards during the College's Honors Convocation held on April 30. Haas was named a Faculty Scholar in Biology. All scholars have excellent academic records and have demonstrated an outstanding mastery of their respective disciplines. Rising seniors are nominated by faculty in their major departments based on academic achievement, leadership and character. Additionally, Haas was presented the Deborah M. Allen Brennan Memorial Scholarship. Established by Professor Emeritus Daniel Allen H'94 and Constance Hartley Allen '72 in memory of their daughter, the award is given to an outstanding biology student who is a junior at the time of Honors Convocation and demonstrates a strong interest in research.

Kylee Hosmer Earns Multiple Academic Honors at Hartwick College

Kylee Hosmer '26 of Boonville, N.Y., was celebrated for her achievements in art history during Hartwick College's Honors Convocation held April 30. Hosmer was named a Faculty Scholar in Art History. All scholars have excellent academic records and have demonstrated an outstanding mastery of their respective disciplines. Rising seniors are nominated by faculty in their major departments based on academic achievement, leadership and character. She also received the Dr. Robert E. and Mrs. Maryalice Mansbach Scholarship, established in 1991 by Charles Paul '72 and Carolyn Van Eps Paul '73 in honor of Robert Mansbach, a retired professor of religion. The award is presented to a student who has shown exceptional growth in the spirit of liberal education. In addition, Hosmer was presented the Semenenko Clark Award for Outstanding Junior Art History Paper. Established by Christine Semenenko P'09 to promote excellence in the Department of Art and Art History, funds support students as they excel in their chosen area.
